Dr. Gopal D joined Sahyadri Narayana Multispeciality hospital, Shimoga as Senior Consultant physician & HOD Department of Internal Medicine in December 2012. He did his MBBS from Bangalore medical college in 1994 & completed DNB in internal medicine from St. Johns Medical college, Bangalore in 2001. He has worked as senior tutor in Dept of emergency Medicine at St. John's. He has also worked in a Christian missionary hospital (Sanjo Hospital) at Mandya where he has served the villagers in remote areas who were devoid of primary and secondary health care. He has helped in establishing state of the art ICU care, standardized medical care at affordable price in this region. In 2013 he joined Sahyadri Narayana Multispecialty Hospital, Shimoga where he started the department of internal medicine & prepared SOP's in critical care medicine. He plays a major role in treating variety of cases like pneumonia, asthma, complicated diabetes cases, kidney related complications, infections like tuberculosis, typhoid, malaria, jaundice, neurological diseases, critical care medicines. Treats-vast number of communicable, non communicable disease and complicated referred cases from the neighboring 6 districts of central Karnataka. He is instructional in starting DNB courses in general medicine dept at SNMH Shimoga. He has a special interest in teaching and guiding the DNB- PG students as part of training program has Played active lead role in managing COVID 19 during all 3 waves of pandemic.
