He has performed over 200 paediatric Bone Marrow transplants to date. He is also experienced in paediatric cellular therapies like Chimeric Antigen Receptor Therapy (CART) for paediatric leukaemia/lymphoma and activated NK cell therapy for solid tumours in children.
He completed MBBS from Gujarat and DNB (Paediatrics) from Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi. He then pursued a Fellowship of National Board & Indian Academy of Paediatrics in Paediatric Haematology Oncology from Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute, New Delhi.
He further pursued 3 years of advanced fellowship in paediatric BMT and cellular therapy overseas from National University Hospital, Singapore, and gained excellence in T cell-depleted Haploidentical transplants, CART and activated NK cell therapy. Subsequently, he moved to London and worked as a Senior Clinical Fellow at Imperial College (St Mary’s Hospital) which is UK's apex centre for benign haematology transplants and gene therapy for haemoglobinopathies. He also worked at the prestigious Great Ormond Street Hospital which is a centre for excellence for performing the highest numbers of transplants for oncology immunodeficiency and metabolic diseases as well as CART and gene therapy.
