Brief Profile
Dr Shweta Bansal is a renowned Consultant Paediatric Haemato-Oncologist. She has been nominated as the best haematologist by India today survey 2021 and Outlook health survey for TOP doctors 2022. She did her specialist training at Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute and then at Tata Memorial Hospital, India followed by Bone Marrow Transplant training at National University Hospital, Singapore. She has also done an IOP fellowship from St. Jude Children`s Hospital, USA. Dr Shweta Bansal has worked extensively in the field of Pediatric Oncology. She received the best paper award at the St. Jude Viva conference, Singapore 2010 for eliminating cranial radiation from Childhood Leukemia protocol and showing excellent results by treating with chemotherapy alone. She also received the prestigious Fellowship award at SIOP Berlin 2008 to present an oral paper on the role of metronomic therapy in Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia. Dr Shweta Bansal has authored many seminal articles in national and international journals. She is an associate editor of IJMPO, India`s top journal in oncology. She is also an ethics committee member at ICMR, NIIH. In the past, she has served as Editor-in-Chief for the South Asian Journal of Cancer - the official journal of the SAARC Federation of Oncology and as newsletter editor of Marrow Donor Registry of India. She was felicitated by the Society of Oncology, Patna in 2010 for work in the field of Paediatric Oncology and is an active member of the Asian Childhood Cancer Alliance (ACCA) and is on advisory boards of India`s foremost Childhood cancer NGOs -Cankids and DigiSwasthya.

Key Procedures Performed
- Performed the first immunologically advanced bone marrow transplant CD45 RA depleted in India with success and was one of the first few pediatric oncologists to start immunotherapy for pediatric cancer patients in India (Anti GD2 therapy for neuroblastoma)
