Dr. Sanjay K Shah is a reputed Consultant Physician and Specialist Diabetologist & Endocrinologist, practicing in Kolkata since 2001 at Narayana Multispecialty Hospital & Narayana Superspecialty Hospital, Howrah. Dr. Sanjay Shah has trained in the UK and is recognized for providing practical, comprehensive Diabetes solutions under one roof. He has extensive experience in the field of Diabetes and related medical complications, and has been awarded for his excellence in clinical work both in India and the UK. After obtaining the postgraduate MD degree in General Medicine from the University of Bombay in 1992, Dr. Shah traveled to the UK, where he underwent five years of intensive training in Diabetes, Endocrinology and Internal Medicine. During this period, he obtained a Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCST) as well as the title of MRCP (Member of the Royal College of Physicians). Dr. Shah has been a speaker for the WHO & IDC collaboration for Staged Diabetes Management 2007, the Thyroid Association, and several local and regional Diabetes updates and seminars. He is a member of a number of Medical, Diabetes & Endocrine societies in India. Dr. Shah is well-versed in the care of patients with Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes, and management of Diabetes during pregnancy, in adolescence, and in the elderly. He is also experienced in the prevention and management of Diabetes complications such as vascular disease, ocular complications, nephropathy, foot disease, etc. In the field of Endocrinology, he has gained competence in the interpretation of investigations of thyroid disorders including fine needle aspiration, adrenal disorders, hypothalamic and pituitary disease, obesity, salt/water balance, brittle bone disease, etc.
