Chronic Pancreatitis is a continuing long-term inflammatory process of the pancreas that alters the organ’s normal structure and functioning, eventually impairing the ability to digest food and produce pancreatic hormones. It has various causes, including gallstones, heavy alcohol use, smoking, tobacco use, etc. The common symptoms include abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting and its treatment usually requires hospitalization.
