Dr. Vivekanand Gajapati completed his MBBS from Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS), Hubli-Karnataka in 1996. He completed his MD (Internal Medicine) and DM (Cardiology) from PGIMER, Chandigarh in 2000 and 2005 respectively. Dr. Vivekanand has rich experience of working as Consultant Cardiologist at various hospitals like Aditya Birla Memorial Hospital, Pune (Nov 2006-April 2007)& Usha Mullapudi Cardiac Centre, Hyderabad (May 2007-Feb 2009). Since 2009 he is working at SDMNH. He is a HOD and Senior Consultant in the Department of Cardiology at SDM Narayana Heart Centre, Dharwad.
He has performed over 18,000 Cath procedures and over 3,000 Angioplasties till date. Dr. Vivekanand Gajapati routinely performs all types of Coronary Angioplasties including Emergency and Complex Coronary Interventions, Balloon Valvuloplasty, Peripheral Angioplasty, Pacemaker Implantation and Device Closure of Congenital Heart Defects
