With over 35 years in cancer care, 30+ years in palliative care, and 25+ years in postgraduate teaching, he has served as Senior Examiner for MD exams at Calcutta University and Course Director for palliative care in West Bengal. He has published and presented numerous papers and established West Bengal's first pain and palliative care unit in 1994 at Medical College, Kolkata.
