We are elated to announce a significant milestone in our journey at Narayana Health. Our unwavering commitment to healthcare excellence and promoting health awareness has made us recognised by the esteemed Guinness Book of World Records.
Narayana Health’s pursuit of a Guinness World Record underscores our dedication to healthcare excellence and a vital mission: to raise public awareness about preventive health measures. We believe that recognition on this global platform will help spotlight the urgency of proactive health management. It serves as a beacon, guiding communities towards a healthier future. Through this record, we strive to inspire individuals worldwide to prioritise their well-being and embrace a culture of wellness. Our commitment to health knows no bounds, and this recognition reaffirms our unwavering dedication to fostering a healthier, happier world.
We are thrilled and proud to share that we have created history by conducting the highest number of electrocardiograms in a single day. On the 21st of September 2023, at Narayana Health City, Bommasandra, Bengaluru, our skilled and dedicated team managed to carry out a staggering 3,797 ECGs. This feat was not just about numbers; it was a statement of our dedication to promoting heart health and ensuring the well-being of our community.
For the unversed, an ECG or Electrocardiogram is a medical test that records the heart’s electrical activity over a short period. It is performed by attaching electrodes to the skin, visually representing the heart’s rhythm. It also helps in identifying abnormalities like arrhythmias or heart disease. ECGs are crucial in diagnosing and monitoring cardiac conditions.
The team behind the world record
This achievement is a powerful reminder to prioritise your health with regular check-ups. Many health issues, especially heart-related, can be managed or even prevented with timely intervention. Through our record-setting endeavour, we wish to highlight the significance of routine health screenings in leading a healthy and fulfilling life.
The cornerstone of good health lies in prevention. Regular check-ups are pivotal in early detection and management of potential health risks. By catching an issue early on, individuals stand a better chance of mitigating complications, ensuring better treatment outcomes, and leading healthier lives. As the age-old adage goes, “Prevention is better than cure.”

Dr Devi Shetty, Founder and Chairman – Narayana Health, expressed his thoughts on this remarkable achievement. “I would like to congratulate our incredible team for achieving and creating this record. This isn’t merely about setting a record; it’s about emphasising the importance of preventive health care. Most heart problems can either be prevented or, if not, postponed. This can only be achieved if individuals opt for preventive check-ups. As we approach ‘World Heart Day’ on September 29, 2023, we urge everyone to prioritise heart health.”
Dr Emmanuel Rupert, MD and Group CEO, and Mr Viren Shetty, Executive Vice Chairman, were equally enthusiastic. Dr Rupert conveyed, “This is a tremendous achievement and congratulations to the entire team for their outstanding organisation of this event. More than the record, it’s our journey towards spreading awareness about the significance of regular health screenings.” Mr Shetty added, “The main takeaway from this event is the importance of early detection, especially concerning heart diseases. Everyone must get tested in any healthcare facility to avoid sudden, unexpected health issues.”
Our recent entry into the Guinness Book of World Records is more than just an accolade; it symbolises our commitment to promoting a healthier society. At Narayana Health, we believe in proactive healthcare, and this achievement stands as a beacon to remind everyone of the importance of regular check-ups. We hope our message resonates with everyone as we inch closer to World Heart Day. Let’s prioritise heart health and work towards a healthier future together.
