India has the dubious distinction of being the diabetes capital of the world! What’s even more alarming is the lack of awareness. A study conducted in May 2019 reveals that 47% of diabetics in India don’t even know that they have diabetes. What’s more? Only 24% of diabetic patients manage their diabetes and keep it under control. All these show our apathy – individual as well as collective – towards a disease that can wreak havoc if not controlled!

A diabetic person should at least include 45-60 minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity every day. Make sure that you don’t stop exercising for more than two days in a row.

With proper medication, opting to undergo regular check-ups and living a well-balanced life, we can beat diabetes.
