Cervical Cancer

This occurs in the tissues of the cervix in women and is usually a slow growing cancer that may not show symptoms. Pap smear test is the way to detect cervical cancer. Risk factors include women who smoke, who have a weak immune system, being overweight or relatives with history of cervical cancer, multiple partners, intercourse at an early age, Human papilloma virus. Hence regular screening is advised after becoming sexually active but no later than 21 years.
